COURSE DESCRIPTION:
In the scientific field, most decisions regarding process improvement are taken on the basis of research. Thus, effective research is always a must to ensure that innovations or enhancements are correctly implemented. Effective research is mostly a matter of good planning and execution. The entire scientific research process, from the initiation of a research idea up to the proper interpretation of results, serves as a guide for researchers to approach problems in an organized and systematic way.
This course will help provide participants with the proper knowledge on laboratory research and design that will greatly reinforce the ability of the participants in terms of experimental method and design for future research. Further, the seminar will help improve the competence of the participants in terms of proper research execution.

Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
1. Determine the steps in conducting experimental research.
2. Identify and describe different classifications of experimental research designs
and methods.
3. Examine the research validity in experimental research.
4. Explore the sources of error and bias in experimental research.
5. Understand the benefits and limitations of experimental research.
6. Become familiar with procedures for IPO registration through the Intellectual Property System of the Philippines.
