DUQUE WARNS ON FOOD PREPARATION AND FLAGELLATION THIS HOT SEASON
Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III warns the public, during a press briefing after his University of Santo Tomas University Hospital visit, to be extra careful in the preparation of their food as food easily gets spoiled during the dry or hot season. Duque also noted that common street foods, whose preparation is doubtful, may cause diarrhea or typhoid. Food preparation should be done with clean hands using clean utensils. Also, the health chief is discouraging flagellation during Holy Week because such practice can be a cause of tetanus infection.
